We spent the day lounging around our condo and laying out by the pool. After class a few of us went to Caleta. You can get there by swimming a short distance or by hiking a couple of miles. The first thing we saw was a gorgeous beach with perfectly spaced palm trees. We saw a few other cool plants too like Sea Grape and a plant with inch long thorns all over. Caleta is a beautiful inlet bay. One area looked very similar to the shore of Lake Superior. While Raquel was enjoying the sunset, she happened to see a manta ray! It was stunning to see because it was so close and in the wild, she says it was awesome, but creepy. We also checked out the small Mayan ruins there. It was a single building that is believed to have been their post office. It was fenced off so we couldn’t go inside, but it was really cool to see. Caleta is beautiful; we plan to go snorkeling there soon! Seeing this place was a wonderful experience!
